Bannister Engineering was hired to provide land planning, zoning services, topographic survey, platting, civil design, landscape architecture, irrigation design, construction staking, and construction phase services for a single family residential subdivision consisting of 58 lots on a 15.5 acre undeveloped tract. A unique challenge for this site involved addressing the City’s new stormwater quality requirements. This project utilized two different methods to address storm water quality. A detention pond was designed to double as an extended release stormwater quality measure while the stormwater runoff that could not be routed to the pond utilized a proprietary in-line storm water quality unit. The combination of these two measures achieved a good balance between efficiency of land use and cost of construction.
