Bannister Engineering was hired to provide civil engineering, surveying, and MEP design for a 60,000 square foot senior care facility. The building was required to comply with all applicable international building codes, the NFPA 70, Life Safety Code 101, as well as the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Chapter 92, Licensing Standards for Assisted Living Facilities. There was an existing pond on-site which the client wished to keep for aesthetic purposes. Bannister developed the site in a manner that would utilize the pond for the required detention while maintaining the pond as a site feature.
